The present study deals with the qualitative study of civil family among the families of Rasht city. The population studied in this research are men and women of Rasht city, and 35 people were interviewed using the purposeful sampling method. This research was conducted using the qualitative method, with thematic analysis approach and using the interview technique, and the interviews with people went as far as it led to theoretical saturation. The findings of this research show that in terms of dialogue, the different types of families studied in Rasht city are: dialogue-oriented families, boundary families and conflict-oriented families. Based on the findings of the research, families that have more cultural and social capital are more symmetrical and dialogue-oriented. In addition, although the participants have stated that today's families are more conversation-oriented than in the past, but in reality and in the "here-now" form, boundary and conflict-oriented families are the two main forms of family. The interviewees have constructed The ideal form of the family in traits such as honesty, mutual respect, the ability to express feelings, consultation, listening to the words of other family members, equality, acceptance of criticism, non-judgment (avoid prejudice),and high capacity (having an open mind).
