The nature of the Journal
The Journal of Social Problems of Iran used to be published in the form of a scientific-research bi-quarterly, based on the license No. 3/11/821 dated 10/5/88 of the Publications Commission of the Ministry of Science, and has been published quarterly since the beginning of 2024.

Background
The Journal of Social Problems of Iran was previously published under the title Special Issue of Social Sciences, Journal of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities, Teacher Training University, Tehran. The journal of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities of Tarbiat Moallem University was published in 1997 with a scientific-research validity as a multidisciplinary journal with various topics in humanities. Since 2004, when the Publications Commission of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology began to move towards the specialization of scientific journals, this journal has been published alternately with two special issues of Persian literature and social sciences. Up to now, 6 special issues of the journal of social sciences special have been made available to researchers. As the process of specialization of scientific-research journals as much as continued, based on the license No. 3/11/821 dated 2009/08/01 of the Publications Commission of the Ministry of Science, the special issue of social sciences changed into an independent scientific-research quarterly under the title "Journal of Social Problems of Iran". Also, since the beginning of 2024, the publication status of the Journal of Social Problems of Iran changed from a bi-quarterly to a quarterly publication, and it is currently published quarterly.
During the publication of the journal, Dr. Gholam Ali Fallah and then Dr. Fatemeh Javaheri were the managing director and Dr. Ahmad Rajabzadeh and then Dr. Seyed Hossein Serajzadeh were the editors of the journal. Currently, the editor-in-chief of the journal is Dr. Karam Habibpour Gatabi. The editorial board of the journal are:

Plagiarism policy The author(s) must avoid plagiarism of any kind and abide by the principle of intellectual property and joint data ownership in the case of the originality of the manuscript and research carried out in collaboration with a supervisor(s) and/or other researchers. The need to validate new observations by showing that experiments are reproducible should not be interpreted as plagiarism, provided that the data to be confirmed are explicitly quoted.
Researchers should ensure, if any aspect of their work is delegated, that the person to whom it is delegated has the competence to carry it out.
Journal of Social Problems of Iran will judge any case of plagiarism on its own metrics. If plagiarism is detected, either by the editors, peer reviewers or editorial staff at any stage before publication of a manuscript, before or after acceptance, during editing or at page proof stage, we will alert the author(s), asking her or him to either rewrite the text or quote the text exactly and to cite the original source. If the plagiarism is extensive, the article may be rejected.
If extensive plagiarism is detected after publication of a manuscript, The article will be deleted from the archive, this plagiarism will be announced on journal website and the author(s) name(s) will be put in blacklist.
