The problem of infertility in our society with regard to its specific socio-cultural construct has a deeper dimension. Infertility is among issues that have multilateral consequences for couples. Medical knowledge uses diverse infertility treatment methods including embryo transferring, surrogacy and in vitro fertilization (IVF). The focus of this research is the use of assisted fertility techniques, and the effects this can have on infertile people. Methodologically this research uses IPA (Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis). Deep interviews were conducted with 25 participants who were women going to infertility treatment centers in Qazvin and maximum social and cultural variation was taken into consideration.
Generally, the results of this study showed that lived experience of infertile women makes them seek treatment which can solve their main concerns that are disruption of life and being judged by others, so their main purpose is stabilization of life and not being judged by other people, but attaining to this purpose is not so specified. These women experience periods of hope and despair during the treatment process and use different strategies to encounter their problems. These strategies are deliberate ones and on the basis of the view of infertile women towards future, infertility, their interaction with human actors and with the culture and society in which they live.
