Authorities’ interviews and speeches, various news in the media, and ongoing debates among people indicate assignment of labor market problems to Afghan refugees in Iran and their dominance over the labor market. It seems that these problems are blamed on Afghan residents by some part of citizens. Therefore people recognize them as responsible for Iranian youth unemployment and express negative emotions towards them (Ruhani, 2015). This study aims to investigate the process of formation of such negative emotions. Using a qualitative approach and grounded theory through theoretical sampling, deep interviews were conducted with youth in Shiraz. Research findings via open, axial and selective coding include 14 main categories, 48 secondary categories, and 218 concepts. To sum up, these categories were presented in one final category of “Frustrating Cost and benefit”. Social processes leading to Iranian youth ascribing their unemployment to Afghan refugees were analyzed and narrated. A paradigmatic model was depicted and a substantive-micro level theory of "negative emotions formation" from Afghan refugees was presented.
